What is the stock fee?
The initial stock fee is an investment in our pool and the HFSC community. The stock price is $700 + tax. Should you ever decide to leave HFSC, the stock payment (less Wisconsin State Sales Tax) is refunded to you once your stock is sold to a new member. The stock purchase system provided the capital on which the pool was built in 1960 and continues to allow us to re-invest and maintain in the pool facilities. HFSC is a non-profit corporation.
If the dues amount changes each summer, how are they determined?
The HFSC Board analyzes the previous year's projected and actual budget. Those numbers are compared to the trends of the years before that. Then, staffing needs are determined and additional expenses discussed. The dues are determined based on what is needed to run the pool. The board does it's very best to keep the increase as low as possible while meeting the budget needs of the pool each season. Every penny of the dues goes to the pool.
How much do lessons cost?
Lessons are included in the price of your membership. Three sessions of lessons are offered each summer. Daytime sessions run five days per week for three weeks per session. All children in your family may enroll for multiple sessions. For a child enrolled in a class during each session, that is 45 classes! Hill Farm guarantees that your child will get placement in the class you request. Staffing is adjusted to make sure that all class requests are accommodated so you never have to sit out a session. The summer is short in Wisconsin, so we want to make the most of it and make sure your child(ren) can participate in all three sessions each summer!
are there evening lessons?
Yes, evening lessons are held three nights a week for eight weeks. Details about evening lessons are published once the pool is open for the season.
is the pool open during evening lessons?
Yes! The pool is still open for free swim during evening lessons. The lap lanes also remain open.
is lap swimming limited?
HFSC has a large number of people who lap swim. The Sunrise Swimmers meet every weekday morning during the early lap swim from 5:45-7:15 a.m. The lap lanes are always open during open pool hours. Lap lanes are also available daily from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. during swim team.
Should I expect to pay fees in addition to annual dues?
The only additional fee for programs offered at HFSC is for swim and dive team participation. There is currently a $50 per child fee ($100 maximum for two or more children) to participate in swim and/or dive team. It's a great deal! There are fees for guests to visit the pool with your family. Please see below.
